Food Pantry Reedsburg WI: Free Food and Food Assistance for Local Families (April Update)

With five food distribution days in April, the Reedsburg Area Food Pantry (RAFP) was a busy place. RAFP continues to serve as a trusted food pantry in Reedsburg, WI for families facing food insecurity who live in the Reedsburg and Weston School Districts. Many households received food assistance, including fresh and canned vegetables and fruit, milk, eggs, cereal, pasta, potatoes, cheese, various proteins, and even some cookies and treats.

RAFP became even more important to local families after the Second Harvest Mobile Food Bank, hosted by Sacred Heart Catholic Church, ended operations in April. This leaves The Den at Reedsburg High School’s food bank drive on Tuesdays and RAFP’s food distribution on Wednesdays as local food assistance options for families in the Reedsburg and Weston School Districts. Because of this change, we expect more families may need help from the Reedsburg Area Food Pantry.

With more families needing food assistance in Reedsburg, there will also be a greater need for funding and community support. One way to support the food pantry is through memorial donations. This month, we received generous memorial gifts from the families of Tom Seamonson, Patsy Collins, and Michael Hartje. We offer our heartfelt condolences and deep gratitude for these meaningful donations.

Webb Middle School held a food drive in April, and we thank the youth of our community for their kindness and generosity. Their support helps local families get the food they need. Another way to donate food in Reedsburg is by placing items in the grocery cart as you exit Viking Village Foods. Thank you to Viking Village Foods for their continued support of the Reedsburg Area Food Pantry.

Thanks to Freedom Marketing Management, our new website, ReedsburgAreaFoodPantry.com, will launch in May with online donation options. This will make it easier for people to donate to the Reedsburg Area Food Pantry and support families facing food insecurity in the Reedsburg and Weston School Districts. Thank you, Taren, for your work with us non-digital folks!

Until next month, thank you for your ongoing support of the Reedsburg Area Food Pantry and local hunger relief in our community.
